Welcome and Stree-2 Actor Mushtaq Khan Kidnapped and Tortured in Meerut

Mushtaq Khan

Renowned actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in numerous hit films like Welcome, Gadar and Stree-2, faced a harrowing ordeal on November 20 in Meerut. As reported by his business partner Shivam Yadav, Khan was abducted and tortured after being invited to attend an award show in the city. Advance payment and flight tickets had been provided to him for the supposed event.

The Abduction

Shivam revealed that upon arriving in Delhi, Khan was instructed to board a vehicle that was supposed to take him to the award venue. Instead, the car diverted to a remote area near Bijnor. There, the actor was held hostage by kidnappers for nearly 12 hours.

During this time, the captors demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore. However, they managed to extort only ₹2 lakh from Khan’s and his son’s bank accounts. The actor endured significant physical and mental distress during the ordeal.

Escape and Rescue

Mushtaq Khan managed to escape when he heard the morning azaan (call to prayer). Using the sound as a guide, he ran towards a nearby mosque, where he sought help from locals. With their assistance and the involvement of the police, he safely returned home.

Filing of Complaint and Evidence

Following the incident, Shivam Yadav filed a formal First Information Report (FIR) in Bijnor. He provided substantial evidence, including flight tickets, bank transaction records, and CCTV footage from near the airport. Khan also identified the neighborhood and the house where he was confined, which is expected to aid the police investigation.

“We are confident the police will apprehend the culprits soon,” Shivam said. “Mushtaq sir and his family were deeply shaken by the incident, but he remains determined to see justice served.”

Connection to a Similar Case

The abduction has drawn parallels to a similar case involving comedian Sunil Pal, who was also kidnapped on the Delhi-Meerut highway under the guise of performing at an event. Yadav noted the striking resemblance between the two cases, raising concerns about a potential syndicate targeting public figures.

“It is shocking that two celebrities have faced such horrifying experiences. We hope these incidents lead to increased awareness and better protection for everyone in the industry,” Yadav added.

Current Status and Investigation

Mushtaq Khan, who recently appeared in the film Stree 2, is recovering from the traumatic experience. He plans to address the media soon to share details about his ordeal. Meanwhile, the police are investigating the possibility of an organized group luring celebrities with fake event invitations to carry out such crimes.

Conclusion

This distressing incident underscores the need for heightened vigilance and stricter security measures for public figures. As investigations progress, the hope remains that the culprits will be brought to justice and such occurrences prevented in the future.
